What Type of Process Project Job Shop Flow Shop and Continuous Flow
Kshitiz Gaur is experienced in earning money online in a variety of ways, including freelance writing, answering questions, and blogging.
Typist Jobs
Online typing jobs are not hard to find because a simple Google search will give you thousands of options. However, it is difficult to decide which website is worth your time and effort. That is why I am going to share the best online typing jobs that you can do from the comfort of your home.
Amazon Mechanical Turk
Amazon Mechanical Turk or MTurk is not limited to only typing tasks, as you can find all sorts of tasks on their platform, like surveys, research, and content moderation. Bigger tasks are broken into smaller segments on their platform, and you can perform these tasks without any experience or specialized skills.
The pay is usually low, but it depends on the task and varies a lot. You can earn a little more than a couple of dollars per hour for doing certain tasks, while you can earn more than fifteen dollars per hour by doing other tasks like doing Google searches and pasting the results into their platform. These aren't my results, but these figures are based on the experiences of a regular MTurk user.
Upwork
Upwork is a great place to get started, even if you are new. I have already written a lot about Upwork and have worked there for five years as well. I don't have any plans to return to Upwork as a freelance writer, but it is not completely out of the question.
You just need to do a few jobs at a lower price to get some reviews, and then the clients will start to take you seriously. There are thousands of typing jobs on Upwork. You can do creative writing, blog writing, data entry, ghostwriting, and several other typing jobs on their platform, depending on what you want to do.
One piece of advice that I would give you is to always try to go for long-term clients. The big projects will last longer and allow you to save some money because Upwork reduces the cut to 10% (from 20%) after your first $500 from a client. If you manage to go above $10,000 from a client, you will only have to pay a 5% cut to Upwork.
FlexJobs
FlexJobs requires you to pay a fee to work on their platform. The fee is only $50 if you pay yearly, which is what you should do to save money. I know that most people don't want to spend money, but this will help you eliminate the competition and have a better experience overall.
Don't worry, they offer a 30-day refund if you aren't satisfied with their platform for some reason. You can try this because you literally have nothing to lose.
Let me just warn you that you can end up having a bad experience as a newbie because you won't have anything to prove your credibility or skills. You can solve this problem by creating some sort of portfolio online and showcasing your typing skills there.
Fiverr
Fiverr is a professional platform where you will create a gig that will describe the service that you offer at the price that you choose. The jobs start at $5, but you can charge as much as you want depending on the type of service that you offer.

You just have to make an account and post a typing gig on their platform. I recommend that you record a video of yourself and explain the typing gig in the video to encourage the clients to hire you.
This is honestly one of my favorite platforms, even though I couldn't get a lot of work on this platform. I couldn't get work mainly because of my lack of interest and effort, but I have to appreciate the fact that they take the time to improve their platform from time to time. This is a great place to offer your typing services online and earn a fair amount of money.
The only issue with Fiverr is that it is very hard to attract clients if you are new to the platform.
Clickworker
Clickworker is like Amazon Mechanical Turk because it also offers microworking jobs. The pay is low, and they can reject your work for any number of reasons. However, Clickworker is not a scam, and it is worth trying. You have to ensure that you follow the instructions and treat it as a side hustle rather than a full-time job.
The tasks that are available to you depend on your past work and the various assessments that you have undertaken on their platform. You can look at the task and see if it is worth it or not because they will specify how much they are willing to pay beforehand.
They will take assessments before they allow you to join their platform, but you should be able to clear them without any issues. Unfortunately, a lot of people want to join their platform, so you have to take the assessments to get access to low-paying jobs.
Freelancer
This article would be incomplete without the biggest freelancing platform, which is Freelancer. Freelancer is full of issues, but it is also full of opportunities. It depends on you how you use this platform to stand out and get clients.
My advice is to make a great profile and take their trial offer, after which you will have to pay $9.95 per month for 100 bids. You can easily make this much if you are able to get some clients on the platform.
You can find a huge number of typing jobs on their platform, so you won't have to work anywhere else if it works out for you. However, I always recommend that you avoid putting all of your eggs in one basket.
The biggest issue with this platform is the competition and the fact that Freelancer takes the side of the clients in almost all cases. You only get eight bids per month with the free membership, which might not be enough to get a job as a new freelancer.
I prefer Upwork because I had a better experience on Upwork, but Freelancer is not bad if you are able to attract clients.
How Much Can I Earn From Online Typing Jobs?
You can earn a couple of dollars per hour, or you can earn more than $20 per hour, so it all depends on the website that you work on and the sort of typing job that you do.
Freelance writing is a typing job, and data entry is also a typing job, but the difference in pay between the two is very high. You can earn even more through freelance writing. Not everyone is comfortable doing freelance writing because it requires a lot more than just typing, but if you can, I recommend you try for a job where you do more than just type something that you see on the screen. It would be a waste of your skills if you limit yourself to just typing. On micro jobs sites, you will end up wasting a lot of time and get paid peanuts in return.
I know that you may not like what I am writing here, but I have a lot of experience working online, so I know how high your online earnings can be if you take the time to apply yourself.
Don't worry, I am not going to sell you a course at the end of this article. I want you to actually succeed in making money online, and the only way to do that is by not exchanging your time for a low-paying job.
In short, choose the typing job wisely and work hard to impress your clients. Freelance writing is a great option, and I recommend working on your blog while building your freelancing career. If you do well, your blog will start to provide you with a stable passive income, and it can be used to showcase your writing skills to your freelancing clients.
Online Typing Jobs That You Should Avoid or Online Typing Scams
I am putting the scams and the online typing jobs that you should avoid in the same section. Some typing jobs aren't worth it because they are a big waste of your time. On the other hand, some scams will rob you and hurt your trust in online jobs.
Following are the jobs and scams that you should avoid.
- CAPTCHA Typing: CAPTCHA typing is unethical because hackers or spammers use CAPTCHA solvers to make a lot of accounts. This is not a respectable online job, and it will add nothing of value to your online portfolio. You also have to remember that the pay is very less if you do get paid.
- Paid Typing Jobs: Not all paid typing jobs are scams or useless, but a lot of scammers promise that you can make a lot if you just pay them a small amount as membership fees. Usually, the scammers promise a very high income so that you fall into their trap. So you shouldn't pay any membership fees or entry fees until you are 100% sure that it is worth it and not a scam.
- Scams: There are so many varieties of scams that I cannot mention them all here. Usually, the scammers that are experienced use a genuine sounding story and lure you in with fall promises. On their website, they may claim that you need a special software to do the typing work, and you only have to pay for the software and nothing else. In reality, you don't need a special software, and you will end up getting scammed if you pay them money.
It's Not Easy, But It Could Be Worth It
It could be amazing to earn a full-time income by doing online typing work from the comfort of your home. The truth is that this dream is not easy to achieve, especially when you don't have any experience. Still, there is hope if you work hard and don't waste your time pursuing low-paying jobs.
I recommend building a portfolio as soon as you can because it will help you if you want to go the freelancing route. If you don't want to spend money on a paid blog, you can make a free blog on WordPress to showcase your typing and writing skills. Just make sure that the blog focuses on a particular topic and showcases your expertise.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the best online typing jobs that you can find online. If you have any questions, you can put them in the comments section below.
